Methodology

ContainerEU is an independent comparison platform. This page documents our sources, calculations and transparency commitments — so you can verify what we publish.

Sources of price ranges

The ranges shown on product pages ("€1,147.5 to €4,500 for a new 20-foot container in France") are built from three sources:

Purchase and rental prices are indicative figures, not supplier quotes.

Check size, condition, options and taxes, as well as delivery and unloading, for each offer.

Compare offers for the same size, condition and options, including delivery and taxes. Differences depend on stock, distance and each supplier’s terms; no quantified saving is guaranteed.

Ask for a dated offer and its validity period before deciding.

Geographic modulation

The model applies factors for the selected market and the local data shown. These factors are comparison assumptions; they do not describe a live exchange rate or measured savings for every address. Compare quotes including delivery to your site.

City information provides project context. Mentioned depots and access routes do not guarantee the required stock.

Delivery to confirm with the supplier

Partner vendor verification

Before signing, check the business identity in the register applicable to the country, insurance, references and delivery terms. Ask the supplier for evidence: partner status does not replace these checks.

Check the business register applicable to the country and that the quote’s contact details match the business. Contact it through independently obtained details if needed.

Ask for an invoice and check the applicable VAT treatment. VIES concerns EU VAT identifiers; not every business is registered there and UK rules are separate.

Ask for insurance documents suitable for the proposed sale, transport and installation. Check limits, validity and who is responsible for each operation.

Ask for references, recent photos of the offered container and written confirmation of stock and delivery date. Business age alone does not guarantee quality.

Partner status is platform information. Ask for evidence for your own transaction and independently verify the payment recipient.

Business model and independence

ContainerEU takes NO commission on transactions. None. The service is free for the buyer, and vendors pay a fixed subscription to receive leads (not a % of the sale).

A request may be sent to a maximum of five active partners according to country, served regions, container type and reception preferences. Selection order may depend on their subscription tier. This filtering does not check live stock or guarantee quality, number of replies or quote timing. Each supplier must confirm availability and terms.

We don't sell containers. We don't organise delivery. We don't collect payments. It is strictly intermediation — comparable to Doctolib for healthcare or Hello Watt for energy.

Update frequency

Prices and availability can change. Displayed dates concern editorial content; they do not guarantee that stock or a price is still available. Ask for a dated offer and its validity period.

Delivery to confirm with the supplier

You may receive up to 5 quotes depending on the container type, delivery area and available suppliers. The number of replies and response time depend on the partners; neither up to 5 quotes nor a fixed deadline is guaranteed.

An update label concerns the page text; quote date and validity are specified by the supplier.

GDPR and data protection

The contact details needed for your request are shared with the recipient partners. See the privacy policy for purposes, recipients and how to exercise your rights; the service does not certify each supplier’s compliance.

Data needed for the project are accessible to recipient partners, up to five, and the team handling follow-up. Technical providers support hosting, the database, emails and, if configured, management notifications. Their access must be limited to service needs and governed by the rules applicable to each processing activity. Contact details are not intended for resale to advertising third parties.

To exercise your rights, use the controller’s contact details in the privacy policy.

Retention periods are determined by purpose and necessity: handling and closing the request, preventing abuse and ensuring security for the necessary period, legal obligations and potential disputes. Data must not be retained longer than needed for these purposes; records needed for an obligation or dispute may be archived with restricted access. Marketing use ends when consent is withdrawn, subject to records needed to honour that withdrawal. Contact the controller for the criteria applied to your record or to request erasure.

Hostinger provides hosting. Safeguards required for any international transfers are described in the privacy policy.

Errors and reporting

If you spot a clearly wrong price range, a failing vendor, or incorrect city/region information: contact@containereu.com with "Methodology report" in the subject line.

A reported error must be checked before correction. Include the page, country, language and passage to help review it.

Transparency commitments

  • No fabricated reviewsNo review or rating is artificially generated. If you see a rating on the site, it comes from an identified customer.
  • No deceptive SEOThe model applies factors for the selected market and the local data shown. These factors are comparison assumptions; they do not describe a live exchange rate or measured savings for every address. Compare quotes including delivery to your site.
  • Sources citedWhen we cite third-party data (freight index, steel price), we name the source in context.
  • Editorial contentPrices and availability can change. Displayed dates concern editorial content; they do not guarantee that stock or a price is still available. Ask for a dated offer and its validity period.
