In accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, ContainerEU is committed to protecting the personal data it processes. This Privacy Policy describes the categories of data collected, the purposes of processing, retention periods and your rights.
Data controller
The data controller is LG, whose details are listed in the legal notices. You can contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO) via the website's contact form.
Collected data
We collect the following categories of data: (a) identification data (name, surname, email, phone number, company name if applicable) provided via our quote request form; (b) project-related data (type and volume of container, delivery location, deadline, potential budget); (c) technical data (IP address, user-agent, pages viewed) collected for security and spam prevention purposes; (d) consent data (timestamp, version of the terms and conditions accepted).
Purposes and legal bases
Your data is processed for: (a) sending your quote request to relevant Supplier Partners — legal basis: performance of a service at your request (prior explicit consent required); (b) sending you an email confirmation and managing the administrative follow-up of your request — legal basis: performance of the service; (c) preventing fraud and spam — legal basis: legitimate interest; (d) complying with our legal retention obligations — legal basis: legal obligation; (e) sending you our news and guides — only if you have ticked the marketing consent box, unsubscribe at any time.
Recipients
Your data is transmitted to: (a) a maximum of five (5) selected Supplier Partners, to whom you explicitly consent when submitting the form; (b) our technical service providers (hosting, transactional email) with whom we have signed subcontractor agreements compliant with GDPR. Your data is never sold or rented to third-party advertisers.
Retention period
Data related to a quote request are retained for 36 months from the date of collection, unless you request early deletion. Technical logs (IP address, user-agent) are retained for 12 months. Marketing consent data is retained until you withdraw your consent.
Transfer outside the EU
Your data is hosted within the European Union. In case of recourse to a service provider located outside the EU (e.g., analytics tool), we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place (standard contractual clauses of the European Commission, adequacy decisions).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection. You may exercise these rights via the site's contact form. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO — www.ico.org.uk) if you believe your rights are being infringed.
Security
We implement technical and organisational measures tailored to protect your data: TLS encryption for exchanges, encryption of sensitive data at rest, role-based access management, logging of consultations, regular security tests.
