Sanitary container: fully equipped mobile solution
Ready-to-use mobile sanitary facilities for construction sites, events, festivals or seasonal camps. A sanitary container delivered with showers, toilets, sinks, water heater and complete plumbing — to be connected to site water and sewage.
Why a sanitary container?
Facing chemical toilets (TTC rental £8.40 – £21/day per unit, quickly degrade) or prefabricated sanitary units in Algeco bungalows (poor insulation, limited durability), the sanitary container offers a durable solution: galvanised anti-corrosion steel, professional plumbing, tiled showers, electric water heater.
Typically used for: construction sites ≥ 4 weeks with >10 people, public events and festivals, seasonal agricultural camps (harvesting, picking), humanitarian aid zones, construction site accommodation units.
Available sanitary formats
The 10-foot container is suitable for a small team (< 10 people) or complementary use. The 20-foot option offers complete communal facilities for construction sites or structured events.
Sanitary 10-foot container
2 to 3 showers + 2 toilets + 2 washbasins
£4,686 – £12,600
Small construction site (up to 8 workers), seasonal agricultural camp, supplementary local on an existing site.
Sanitary 20-foot container
4 to 6 showers + 4 toilets + 4 washbasins
£9,371 – £27,300
Structured construction site (15-30 workers), festival / large public event, humanitarian base camp, seasonal camp > 20 people.
Equipment to specify in the quote
Specify the toilets, showers, washbasins, plumbing and equipment actually included in the quote, together with on-site water, electricity and wastewater connections. Installation and compliance depend on the project and site; “sanitary” does not guarantee a complete delivered and connected package.
Complete plumbing
PER / multilayer piping in compliance with DTU 60.11, timed taps to prevent waste, PVC drainage with traps. Water inlet 20 mm, standard outlet 100 mm.
Individual showers and toilets
Partitioned cabins with doors, anti-slip basins, suspended toilets with water-saving flushes of 3/6 litres. Mechanical ventilation controlled to prevent humidity.
Electric water heater
Water tank from 100 to 300 litres depending on capacity, allowing for successive showers up to 6 to 15 people. Long-lasting stearite resistance, anti-corrosion magnesium anode protection.
Compliance with standards
Choose sanitary modules with the capacity, washing facilities, water supply, drainage and accessibility required for the intended use. Ask the supplier for the equipment documentation and have the site arrangement checked against the applicable rules.
Frequently Asked Questions about the sanitary container
What is the price of a sanitary container in 2026?+
A 10-foot sanitary container costs between £4,686 – £12,600 (2-3 showers + 2 toilets). A 20-foot: £9,371 – £27,300 (4-6 showers + 4 toilets). Price differences mainly come from the level of finish (standard vs premium tiling, mechanical vs electronic taps).
Can a sanitary container be rented?+
Compare the total cost over your intended use: purchase price and estimated resale value, rent, delivery and collection, maintenance, insurance and financing. There is no universal threshold in months: use quotes for your market and a cautious resale assumption. Indicative figures to confirm in the quote: £120 – £315, £214 – £546.
What water supply and drainage is required on site?+
Minimum potable water supply pipe diameter: 20 mm (1 m³/h flow rate), sewage or septic tank sized according to the number of users (1,000 to 3,000 litres). On isolated construction sites, variants with an onboard water reservoir exist — autonomy of 2-4 days.
What does site connection cost?+
Standard water supply and drainage connection: £525 – £2,100 depending on distance from public networks and terrain complexity. Onboard water heater: £840 – £1,890 already integrated — to be verified in the quote.
What are the legal welfare requirements on a UK construction site?+
In the United Kingdom, employers must provide welfare facilities suitable for the workforce, risks and site conditions: toilets, hand washing, drinking water, changing and rest facilities as required locally. Have the design checked by the site safety professional and competent authority.
What VAT rate applies?+
For an ordinary domestic supply taxed at the standard rate, the indicative country rate is 20 %. Check the invoice, place of taxation, special schemes and cross-border treatment. Recovery depends on use for activities carrying deduction entitlement and your VAT regime; depreciation or tax relief has no universal container period.
