Applicable UK data protection law includes the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as amended. EU GDPR may also apply to relevant processing. This policy describes the data, purposes, retention and individual rights.
Data controller
The data controller is LG. Its contact details are listed in the legal notice. For questions about your personal data, you can use the website’s contact form.
Collected data
Request data include identity and contact details, optional company name, project characteristics, location and desired timing, optional budget and contact preference. The form records permission to forward the request, marketing preference, language and creation date. Technical and source data (IP address, browser, source page, referrer and campaign parameters when present) are also recorded for follow-up and spam prevention. The form does not collect a version number of accepted terms. For new requests sent to Quotbox, we also record the version and exact text of the displayed sharing consent, together with its acceptance date.
Purposes and legal bases
Your data is processed for: (a) sharing, with your prior consent, your quote request and contact details with ContainerEU’s supplier partners and with Quotbox and its partners so that you can receive quotes; (b) sending you an email confirmation and managing the administrative follow-up of your request — legal basis: performance of the service; (c) preventing fraud and spam — legal basis: legitimate interest; (d) complying with our legal retention obligations — legal basis: legal obligation; (e) sending you our news and guides — only if you have ticked the marketing consent box, unsubscribe at any time.
Recipients
With your consent when submitting the form, ContainerEU shares your request and contact details with up to 5 supplier partners and with Quotbox. Quotbox may share them with up to 5 of its own partners, for a total of up to 10 professionals. Quotbox’s partner list is available at https://quotbox.com/partenaires. Our technical service providers (hosting, transactional email) also process the data needed to operate the service. Sharing with Quotbox applies to new requests submitted with this consent; it does not include previous requests.
Retention period
Retention periods are determined by purpose and necessity: handling and closing the request, preventing abuse and ensuring security for the necessary period, legal obligations and potential disputes. Data must not be retained longer than needed for these purposes; records needed for an obligation or dispute may be archived with restricted access. Marketing use ends when consent is withdrawn, subject to records needed to honour that withdrawal. Contact the controller for the criteria applied to your record or to request erasure.
Hosting and international transfers
Hosting is provided by Hostinger. For processing governed by UK data protection law, any restricted international transfer must comply with the UK GDPR transfer rules and use a valid transfer mechanism where required, such as applicable UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards. Where EU GDPR applies, transfers outside the European Economic Area must meet its requirements, using an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards where required.
Your rights
Under applicable UK data protection law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, or object to processing. Use the contact form; identity evidence is requested only when necessary. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). You can withdraw your consent to sharing and contact about quotes at any time through ContainerEU’s contact form and by contacting the partners concerned.
Security
Professional and administrative areas require authentication and access is limited by account permissions. Passwords are stored as hashes. Requests undergo validation and an anti-spam check. These measures are not a guarantee of absolute security. Do not submit passwords, bank details or sensitive documents in a quote request’s free-text field.
